I’m Christie Cat and my work revolves around cats, humour, and day to day life. I create work using my trusty iPad, iPencil and the Procreate app. It’s important that I create daily, whether it be finished or unfinished because this is a true reflection of my experiences and equally vital I post daily on social media platforms to engage my audience with continuous content.
My work relates to post-contemporary cultural and societal issues/values, through the lens of my own personal humour and interpretation, things that happen in my life even if I’m listening to music or on the loo to being at work. I hope that the viewer resonates with my work and is inspired to think or produce their own art to further the awareness and keep the entertainment alive.
Other artists influence my work such as Rubyetc, Danny Casale, my day to day life, films and music. The artists have made a good impression on my work since their work is something I can relate to and share with my friends who can relate to it too.
I see my work being made into zines, comics, prints, badges and short animations. In my spare time, I like to be gaming, watch vlogs (ones based in Japan and South Korea) and films.
