FILMS

Fantasy

Films like The Lord of the Rings to Harry Potter have a great amount of fantasy in, one would simply hope to walk into mordor without a scratch or be in the wizarding world without any troubles drinking Butterbeer.

Films; Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, The Cat Returns, Spirited Away and Kiki's Delivery Service.

Action

Action films over the years have hugely developed but those coming out seems to be like a competition of who's the best and whos the worst.

Films; John Wick, Aeon Flux, Hitman's Bodyguard, Johnny English, Spiderman and Jason Bourne.

World Cinema

South Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Russian and many more are part of the cinema world.

Some people (mainly those in English-speaking countries) use the term to refer to the films and film industries of non-English-speaking countries.

Films like Oldboy, The Handmaiden, The Witch, Midnight Runner, Along With the Gods and Nightwatch.

Horror

I don't watch horror movies as much but when I do, I tend to go for ones that has great reviews but then I still don't hold out much hope for them since many people seem to over hype films these days.

Horror; Cabin in the Woods, Dawn of the Dead, REC and Pet Cemetery.

GAMES

First-Person shooter

First-person shooter games have come a long way, with the earliest documented being Maze War and Spasim as the origins (1970s-1980s), the last 1980s were when they began to really pop up with intention.

Doom is a great example of how far first-person shooter games have developed over the years.

Games; Call of Duty, Doom, Bioshock, Borderlands, Far Cry and so many more.

Horror

More known as survival horror, games have now become intertwined with action and taking in more features from action games.

You can feel less in control through limited ammunition, speed, health and vision which can be stressful but overall, scare the crap out of me.
Games; Resident Evil, Outlast, Dying Light, Silent Hill, F.E.A.R, The Last of Us etc.

Action

Action games tend to have physical challenges, including hand–eye coordination and reaction-times which can make the game fun or/and annoying at times. Action games have
sub-genres, such as shooter games, fighting games etc.

Games; Uncharted, Dishonored, Portal, Bayonetta, Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption.

Roaming

Known as 'Walking Simulator', these types of games are great to explore most of your surroundings as you delve deeper into the story.

Games; Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, Dear Esther, Firewatch and Oxenfree.

Fantasy

Fantasy games aren't part of my favourite genre for a game but I've played games that of course have a fantasy theme.

Games; Dragon Age, Final Fantasy, The Elder Scrolls, The Witcher and Dark Souls.
